The Catholic Community Foundation will host its 18th annual Crozier Dinner with entertainment by guitarist Jose Feliciano at the Phoenician Resort in Scottsdale April 29.
Proceeds from the dinner will help the foundation provide grants for Catholic school education, religious and adult education, and communication programs.
John Scola, president of Catholic Community Foundation, said the black-tie event contributes to the organization’s ministry, which aims to “carry on the work of Christ” far into the future.
“None of us are really capable of understanding what ‘perpetual’ means. We are compelled in our ministry to think of things that will be important generations from now,” Scola said.
The Catholic Community Foundation specializes in endowment and grant management. Their focus is in the area of perpetual funding.
Different from the annual Charity and Development Appeal, the Catholic Community Foundation is not a year-to-year campaign and is a separate entity from the diocese. The organization depends on fundraising through individual estate plans, outright gifts of individuals and proceeds from the annual Crozier Dinner.
More than 800 people are expected at this year’s dinner, including Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted. The event begins with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $250 per person and reservations will be accepted until Monday, April 24.
