Year of Faith: Advent event — 6:30 p.m. Dec. 1. and Dec. 2 at St. Andrew the Apostle Parish in Chandler. “You Shall Believe. Science tests faith” features Tim Francis who will talk about and show how various scientific tests proved what believers already know. Info.

Holiday lighting event — 6-8 p.m. Dec. 1 at McCormick Entrance Lake (NEC of Scottsdale and McCormick Ranch Pkwy) in Scottsdale. Event features OLPH students singing at 6:45 p.m. plus Santa, fireworks, food, wreath kids and snow. Event flyer.

Deadline for Advent retreat — Register online by Nov. 30. The Crosier Community of Phoenix is hosting an Advent Day of Reflection 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Dec. 8 at Mount Claret Retreat Center in Phoenix. Mens spirituality — 7-9:45 a.m. Dec. 1 at Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale. Map. The Casa’s Mens Spirituality Group is hosting a talk, “Developing Healthy Spiritual Relationships” presented by Charles Atkinson, a retired professor, professional psychotherapist and volunteer counselor at The Casa.
Mass is at 7 a.m. followed by breakfast and 7:30 a.m. and the talk at 8:45 a.m. Breakfast is by donation and the talk is free.

Apache spirit — 3-7 p.m. Dec. 1 at Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale. The Faith in Action Ministry will help guests discover Apache spirituality through story, song and dance. Info.
