Lenten mission with Tom Booth — 7-8:30 p.m. March 4-5 at Franciscan Renewal Center in Scottsdale (map). Focused on the theme: “The desert will lead you to your heart where I will speak.” Free, but optional dinner March 5 is $10 and registration required.

Lenten conference: The San Damiano Cross and Our Life — 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. March 4 at St. Mary’s Basilica (map). Franciscan Father Franklin Fong from the Franciscan School of Theology in Berkley will offer the same conference twice. He will focus on the San Damiano Cross and how it’s an invitation to spiritually re-build the church.

Parish Mission with Bishop Wall — 7 p.m. March 4-6 at St. Thomas the Apostle (map).

Divine Mercy Lenten Mission — 7-9 p.m. March 6 at St Mary’s Basilica (map). Learn the story of God’s love and compassion for us, the Divine Mercy image, the Divine Mercy chaplet, the novena and Divine Mercy Sunday. Info: (623) 332-2821. Repeated Mach 20 at St. Theresa (map).

Lenten Days of Prayer, Reflection — 9 a.m.-lunch March 6 at Mount Claret Retreat Center (map). “New lens for a New Focus” with Fr. Joe Hennessy, founding pastor of St. Andrew the Apostle in Chandler. Small Talk with Fr. Joe — 7 p.m. March 5, 12 and 19 at Mount Claret Retreat Center (map). Hosted by Fr. Joe Hennessy, founding pastor of St. Andrew the Apostle in Chandler. Free.

Italian concertist and basilica schola — 7 p.m. March 11 at St. Mary’s Basilica (map). Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Anthony parishes are working with the Schola Cantorum at St. Mary’s Basilica to put on a free concert with Sergio Militello, an Italian expert in “Liturgical Musicology” who received a special appreciation by Blessed John Paul.

Matt Maher — 7 p.m. March 14 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Tempe (map). Matt Maher’s Lenten tour includes a stop in Tempe where he will share the stage with Mark Hart, executive vice president of Life Teen and its “Bible Geek.” The Brilliants will open the concert. Sacred music concert — 7 p.m. March 15 at St. Margaret Mary in Bullhead City (map). Terry Barber, an internationally acclaimed who has been a soloist for the Metropolitan Opera, Carnegie Hall and the Moscow’s Svetlanov Hall will perform accompanied by Jamie Dyer at the piano. Tickets from parish “Ghipht Shop”: $15 adults and $7 youth 18 and under. $20 at door.

Mozart’s Requiem — 7 p.m. March 19 at St. Thomas the Apostle (map). The parish choir will combine with the a cappella concert choir from Corona Del Sol High School for over 100 voices backed by a professional orchestra. Under the direction of Greg Hebert, the musicians will perform Mozart’s Requiem along with selections by William Byrd, Morten Lauridsen, Mendelssohn and Palestrina. Event poster.
