Catholics and all other ears eager to hear more about life as a vowed woman religious should tune in to the next episode of Motherhouse Road Trip. The series is part of A Nun’s Life Ministry and is hosted by two IHM sisters who talk about discernment, prayer, spirituality and other Catholic topics.

Their next road trip stop is Dayton, Ohio to the Motherhouse of the Sisters of the Precious Blood. The episode airs at 2 p.m. Aug. 28.

The live show is a good 1,800 miles from the Diocese of Phoenix, but it’s a distance that the sisters traveled as early as 1917 when they opened St. Mary’s High School. They went on to serve in education at two other diocesan high schools and five elementary schools.

Precious Blood Sisters Joyce Lehman and Della Mae Meyerwill be the featured guests. They have been vowed religious for 50 and 60 years, respectively. Join their live — but facilitated — chat room to interact with the sisters and other listeners.

The road trip combines social media and in-person events in innovative ways to engage with people about God, faith, and religious life. The Precious Blood Sisters are active in Arizona, California, Colorado and three midwest states. They play a role in education and health care plus ecology, justice and peace and emergency response issues.

The next episode marks the seventh stop this year and 11th since its launch a year ago. The show’s hosts launched the Motherhouse Road Trip to connect Catholic sisters and nuns with an online community that is supportive of vocations and deeply interested in the lives and works of women religious. Remaining shows will air in November.

They founded A Nun’s Life Ministry in 2006 as pioneers in combining technology, social media and vocations outreach in highly interactive, conversational and pastoral ways. The ministry encourages people to understand their life as a vocation.
