St. Mary's Basilica lies at the northeast end zone for "Super Bowl Central" in downtown Phoenix and is partnering with Catholic agencies to showcase how they run the "PlayBook for Common Good."

St. Vincent de Paul hosted the Souper Bowl of Caring kickoff Jan. 14. The community-wide effort is aimed at tackling hunger because there's enough hungry Americans to fill more than 500 stadiums.

The Turkey Bowl made up a small sliver of TransPac’s Thanksgiving celebration with the first-time effort also multiplying the outreach St. Vincent de Paul can provide to struggling families and individuals this holiday season.

Not every meal at St. Vincent de Paul’s five dining rooms comes from a nonperishable box or a can. More and more of them are fresh from the organization’s own garden.
