A production of PBS station WTTW in Chicago. Winner of a Christopher Award in TV & Cable category, meaning the work affirms the highest values of the human spirit. More on the film.

“Franciscan University Presents: A Catholic Guide to Depression” — Psychiatrist Aaron Kheriaty joins host Michael Hernon and professors Regis Martin and Scott Hahn for a discussion about depression. Together, they explore how the lives of the saints and the grace of the sacraments can complement psychiatry in helping us to understand and overcome this widespread malady.

“Walking the Camino: Six Ways to Santiago” — Filmmaker Lydia B. Smith’s documentary follows a half-dozen travelers as they make their way along the most popular of the medieval pilgrimage routes leading to the Spanish shrine of Santiago de Compostela. While only one hiker is motivated by her Catholic faith, all find the 500-mile journey a physically demanding but spiritually renewing experience.
Splendid footage of the magnificent landscapes through which they pass, interspersed with scenes showcasing new friendships, altruistic acts of kindness and courageous determination in the face of potentially debilitating conditions make for uplifting and enjoyable viewing, according to Catholic News Service. The subject matter is not likely to interest children, and a few crude terms and adult references make it inappropriate for them.
