High school students and their parents are invited to local Catholic high schools to learn more about various college and university options.

Notre Dame Preparatory in Scottsdale is hosting Family College Night 6-8 p.m. Sept. 17 (map). It’s open to the public so non-NDP students are welcome. Admissions professionals from Arizona colleges and universities and beyond will guide families through the college search, application and decision-making process. Seminars include:

  • beginning the college search
  • standardized tests
  • essay writing for applications and scholarships
  • funding higher education
  • factors in highly selective admission
  • major and career choices

No RSVP is required, but sessions will be capped according to available space.

Brophy and Xavier college preparatories are teaming up for its College Fair 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sept. 29 in Xavier’s Founders Hall (map). Meet with representatives from more than 160 colleges and universities.

Seton Catholic Preparatory in Chandler is hosting a similar event at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7 in its Fine Arts Theatre. (map) Since it’s a couple of weeks out, consider taking advantage of the school’s college planning tips in the interim.
