Most diocesan schools have these words posted somewhere on campus. St. Joseph School in Cottonwood shared them on its Facebook feed July 29.

Students across the Diocese of Phoenix return to school at vastly different times. Some public school kids are in their second, if not third, week of the new academic year.

Catholic high school students largely return to campus this week with many attending orientation events last week. Catholic elementary school students in the Valley return next week with San Francisco de Asís in Flagstaff returning Wednesday. Sacred Heart students in Prescott began classes last week.

Take a look at our compiled coverage of back-to-school preparations and first days via our Storify account. Basically, we pulled relevant photos and links from various parish and school social media feeds into one thematic piece.

They’re all good glimpses into our Catholic classrooms and into the yearly work our local Catholics and related agencies help ensure students arrive at school prepared. Perhaps my favorite piece within the Storify post is a bulletin reflection from one of our local priests. He references this documentary:

The preview helps keep back-to-school traffic, reduced speed in school zones and other school-year inconveniences into perspective.

As an FYI, when looking at the Storify post, some of the images pulled from Facebook may load better if you’re logged out of your Facebook account.
