“It will be quite a fun evening and so different from a regular theatrical production,” said director Bonnie Wilson, NDP’s drama instructor. “Our waiters are also characters in the play.”

The waiters for the high tea and dinner theaters will give hints to the audience about who the killer might be. At all the performances, the audience will vote on who they think perpetrated the murder of billionaire Simon Starkweather, and so the audience will chose the ending for each show.

Nearly every character in this rollicking mystery has the weapon, opportunity and motive to commit the unseen murder. Each performance could have a different ending.

“Murder’s in the Heir” won’t be the first dinner theater production at Notre Dame. Students achieved a similar fete five years ago.

Opened in 2002, Notre Dame Prep is a Catholic diocesan college preparatory high school with a co-ed enrollment of 947 students. Actors and ensembles won several National Youth Arts Awards for their roles in “Big Fish and “You Can’t Take It With You” in August based on last year’s school productions.
