NOTE: Christ in Our Neighborhood is a parish-based program consisting of small Christian communities that gather in the home weekly to prayerfully discuss the upcoming Sunday Mass readings. It’s easy to form a community and you can find out more at Christ in Our Neighborhood – The Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix (dphx.org)
The question the Christ in Our Neighborhood Reflection asks us is: As you go out into the world each day and encounter people, do you remember that they are His lambs? How do you tend to them? It’s commonplace for us to fall into the trap of placing people into categories: progressives, right-wingers, workaholics, troublemakers. When we do that, we fail to see each person as God sees him or her: precious, made in His image, someone He died to set free, a lamb.
With the help of God’s grace, we can learn to see all people — including those who have offended us and those who are different from us — as His lambs.
If you haven’t joined a Christ in Our Neighborhood small group yet, perhaps you are being called to start one yourself. Check out our website today to find out more: dphx.org/Christ-in-our-neighborhood.
