If you’re not one who uses TiVo to cut out commercials, you might have caught glimpses of diocesan property on a couple of TV commercials recently. It appears the following landmarks stood out as key Phoenix icons to those who produced the following promotional pieces for Marine Week in Phoenix:

• statue of St. John Paul II between the Diocesan Pastoral Center and St. Mary’s Basilica
• the fountain behind JPII’s statue
• the facade of St. Mary’s Basilica

Each image appears in some videos building hype for Marine Week. The Marines are coming Sept. 10-13. There will be events at the Scottsdale Library, Civic Space Park, Bolin Plaza, University of Phoenix stadium and other public parks.
