A Brush with God

April 23 @ 4:00 pm - April 26 @ 4:00 pm
$625.

Peter Pearson, MDiv, ThD

Get to know St. Olga of Alaska
Saint Olga of Alaska is a recently canonized saint in the Orthodox Church and a native Yupik midwife and matushka (the wife of a priest). She is known for her faithfulness, humility, and compassionate care for abused women in her village. We encourage you to read a bit about her to get to know this remarkable woman.

In this workshop, we will follow the step-by-step process of creating her icon in the traditional Byzantine style, while working with more user-friendly materials. All supplies will be provided, and no prior experience is required.

Peter Pearson has been painting icons for over fifty years and teaching others for more than thirty years. Please join us as we paint and pray while getting to know Saint Olga of Alaska.

We work Thursday evening after dinner, Friday evening after dinner, all day Saturday (9 am – 4 pm), and half-day Sunday (1 – 4 pm). There will be additional times available to work on a second icon for those who are interested. This is completely optional.

Fee: Single, $625 includes meals and lodging; Commuter, $425 includes 2 dinners and 1 lunch. Pre-registration required.
