Church of the Ascension in Fountain Hills to Host “Breathe Into His Presence” Lenten Retreat
As the Lenten season continues, Church of the Ascension invites the community to a unique three-day retreat designed to help participants find peace and stillness in a fast-paced world. Titled “Breathe Into His Presence,” the event will be led by renowned breathing coach and author Shereen Yusuff.

The retreat aims to address the common modern struggles of stress and anxiety. Through a blend of breathwork, prayer, and anthropology, Yusuff will guide participants in cultivating a deeper connection with God by accessing the heart both physically and spiritually. The sessions are designed to help attendees quiet their minds, open their hearts, and deepen their love for Jesus through intentional breathing techniques.

Shereen Yusuff brings a fascinating and diverse background to her ministry. An aerospace engineer by education, she spent 16 years in the oil and gas sector before transitioning to her current work as a human performance coach and author. She is a convert to the Catholic faith and a Benedictine oblate, as well as an accomplished endurance athlete who has completed marathons, ultramarathons, and Ironman triathlons.
Yusuff is a certified instructor in the Wim Hof, Buteyko, and Oxygen Advantage methods. Her work focuses on the intersection of science and spirituality, exploring how the breath is a gift from God that can lead us into the silence where He dwells. She is the author of the book, Seeking the Spirit Within.

All are welcome to attend this community event, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. The retreat will conclude with a special reception, providing an opportunity for fellowship and conversation with the speaker.

The retreat will take place over three consecutive days:
