SUMMARY:St. Francis: Journey of a Resilient Warrior Retreat for Veterans
DESCRIPTION:This retreat for is active duty service members and military veterans. It is designed to offer healing insights from one of the most beloved but misunderstood saints\, St. Francis of Assisi\, who was a soldier and a prisoner of war in the 12th century. In untangling the paradox of his life\, this retreat will explore how the call the warrior intersects with the call of spirituality. \nThe retreat will be led by Fr. Conrad Targonski\, OFM\, who is a Catholic Franciscan friar and served 22+ years with the Navy & Marine Corps as a supervisory chaplain in Operation Phantom Fury. Over 220 AZ veterans have attended this retreat at the Franciscan Renewal Center since 2013. He has also taken over 400 veterans on the Pilgrimage for Veterans to Assisi\, Italy since 2012\, including 20 Arizona veterans. \nThe retreat is Free.

Aryn Sylvester\, Licensed Professional Counselor and board-approved Clinical Supervisor\, mother of 12 (4 children in heaven)\, found her calling later in life. She will guide us through unholy vows\, curses\, lies and wounds that we may be carrying and unknowingly passing down to our children. She will teach us how to better communicate to our children and guide them in handling life’s difficulties. She will provide us tools we can use on ourselves and with our children as we live to build a faith-filled peaceful home. An assessment will be sent home to complete before the next class (The Temperament God Gave your Kids). Each event is a stand-alone so if you can’t make one but can attend the other\, still register! \nFellowship begins at 5:30 pm for those that can arrive earlier.
