DESCRIPTION:A program presented in partnership with the Franciscan School of Theology \n“Pope Francis and Care for Creation on the Long Path of Renewal” \nPope Francis’ Laudato Si’ calls for an integrated\, spiritually-based approach to address the interlinked crises of global poverty and environmental catastrophes. Laudato Si’ has advanced Catholic social teaching about the environment but has a more audacious scope than prior encyclicals: it calls for the cultural\, educational\, moral and religious renewal of all humanity. This is an important dimension of what Pope Francis means by “integral ecology.” To encourage action on the calls of Laudato Si’\, it can best be presented as a guide for evangelization\, faith formation\, and conversion in light of our planetary crises. Its call to “the long path of renewal” is a pilgrimage journey of renewal and conversion. \nNo fee and no registration required. Program will be in the auditorium.

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy prayer and recreation time\, unparalleled natural beauty\, and fun with your fellow “peregrinos” (pilgrims) as you make the trek to El Santuario de Chimayó. \nCreatio’s experienced guides will lead you on this pilgrimage both in nature and in spirit. Our guides have been on this route many times; in fact\, we helped create it! This pilgrimage is physically demanding. You’ll spend most of your time walking in the Carson National Forest or on roads adjacent to it. Wheeler Peak\, New Mexico’s highest point\, is located in the forest\, and trails taking advantage of the forest’s beautiful setting. \nDaily distances range from 9 to 18 miles for a total of nearly 45 miles on foot.
