A national college admissions expert is headed to the Valley ready to help families with high school-aged students discern, apply and get in to the best college. Robert Franek, who wrote “The Best 378 Colleges & Best Value Colleges,” will serve as the keynote speaker during a Family College Night for the public 6:45-8:45 p.m. Sept. 25 at Notre Dame Preparatory in Scottsdale (map).

His humor and accessible style will prepare high school students to be a savvy college shopper and applicant. Franek, who is also the senior vice president and publisher of “The Princeton Review,” will share insider tips on colleges and how to get the most out of financial aid.

Parents and students can choose from two of 13 breakout sessions following the keynote address. Industry experts will help attendees discern honors colleges, tackle scholarship essay writing, explore military options, identify merit and need-based aid, get the most of campus visits, begin the college search and more.
