There are a lot of corporations and individuals teaming up to #BeASummerActionHero to neighbors in need. You can be a part of it. Join St. Vincent de Paul in meeting the critical need for food and cash donations that arises each summer:

• Make a cash donation — Through June 17, CenturyLink will match it up to 75%. And tell your social media friends. You can support St. Vincent de Paul and encourage them to support the food bank/charity closest to them. They’ll find a list of food banks and feeding efforts in 33 other states plus Washington D.C.
  Donations are welcome and needed beyond June 17 too.
• Host a food drive/Participate — Summer is the time of year when demand for food is high and supply runs low. Struggling individuals and families with children home from school create a greater strain on food banks. At the same time, vacationing regular donors, in terms of finances and food, often results in less food available to share.
  Host your own food drive or participate in one. Every Arizona Wal-Mart location in central and northern Arizona has donation bins (through June) as do participating Shea or Trilogy communities (through July 3). Use #DonateWithShea as you post a picture of your good deed and Shea will donate $5.
