Broken and Blessed Retreat

Marianne Gouveia and Greg Eckerman
When someone dies by suicide, those left behind after this tragedy are devastated. In the wake of this devastation, we face existential questions about the mysteries of life and death — “Where is God in my pain?” “Why did God let this happen?” “Where is my loved one, and are they OK?”
The Broken and Blessed Retreat will help those bereaved by suicide reconcile and process their pain, understand their feelings of powerlessness, and find comfort in God’s mercy. Along with memorial candle ceremonies, this retreat combines discussions with clergy, prayer services, a drum circle, and a labyrinth meditation, as well as a visual prayer collage.
During this retreat, we will debunk the myths surrounding suicide and help you find hope and healing as you seek healing with others who know and understand your pain. While this retreat is rooted in the Catholic tradition, all faiths are welcome regardless of individual beliefs. It is open for all adults who have lost a loved one to suicide. All faiths are welcome.
Fee: Friday – Sunday, Single, $250 including meals and lodging; Commuter, $150 including meals. Pre-registration required.
