The Desert Mystics
In the earliest centuries of the Christian era, a group of men and women became disillusioned with the Church’s deepening relationship with Empire, power, and wealth; so they fled to deserted places to pray, work, and explore their relationship with God in the silence. Fortunately, they have left us a wealth of their insights and wisdom. Let’s spend the weekend together learning from them and exploring what the silence can teach us.
