Fast Talk Theology: Giving and Receiving Care: Lay Franciscans and the Spirituality of Interdependence

A program presented in partnership with the Franciscan School of Theology with Dr. Darleen Pryds, Ph.D

Caregiving and receiving care are constant aspects of the lived experience of faith among laymen and women in the Franciscan tradition. The intimate encounter between the caregiver and care recipient opens space for metanoia or ongoing conversion for both parties. This talk explores that tender place of mutual spiritual transformation which is present in caregiving and suggests the role of interdependence that is inherent in Franciscan spirituality.
