Shannon McAllister, PhD
A program presented in partnership with the Franciscan School of Theology
Franciscans such as St. Bonaventure of Bagnoregio, Nicholas of Lyra, and St. Lawrence of Brindisi understood the woman searching for her lost coin in Luke 15:8-10 to be Jesus, and St. Bonaventure and St. Lawrence expanded upon this to reflect upon the suitability of imagining God as a woman or mother. This presentation traces this Franciscan vision of God to its scriptural and patristic sources.
Program will be presented in the Serra room in Piper Hall.
Free will donation to the Franciscan School of Theology.
