About 500 people gathered on the eve of the nation’s 245th birthday to pray for America and her future as a republic under God during the annual Independence Day Mass and Rosary for America at St. Thomas the Apostle Church Saturday, July 3.

"We come not as different religions but one in the Lord," said the Orlando Bishop said at an interfaith prayer vigil. Others in Florida and Texas allowed mourners to pray for Orlando in a special way and recognize the dignity of all people as children of God.

The diocesan Red, White and Blue Mass Nov. 8 marked the Church’s signature effort to honor veterans and service personnel who bravely stepped up for war and peacetime duty.
