Convent makeover — 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Nov. 17 at St. Anthony Parish (1st Avenue south of Lincoln Street). Map. Help the CRYS community (a local Catholic retreat group for young singles) paint, clean and organize the convent for the community of Saint Maria de Jesus Sacramentado. Build a Playground — 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 17 at Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Multi-generational playground will be used by children, teenagers and adults in all of St. Vincent de Paul’s programs. Event page.

NET Ministries team in diocese — Nov. 17-25. Pray for the Catholic young adults on team 7 who will be putting on retreats at local schools and parishes. They are traveling the country all year in service to the Church. Follow the team’s blog.

  • Vision of Freedom — 10 p.m. EST on EWTN and online. This story of the persecuted Ukrainian Catholic Church relates how appearances of Our Lady to Ukrainians encouraged the faithful there to persevere under oppression, a perseverance which eventually gained them the freedom to practice their faith openly.
