NEWS BRIEF: Third prayer vigil this year for an end to the death penalty

Msgr. Peter Dai Bui, vicar for clergy of the Diocese of Phoenix, led a one-hour prayer vigil Tuesday night at St. Mary’s Basilica in downtown Phoenix, the evening before the scheduled execution of Murray Hooper. He was joined by the faithful in praying together for victims, for aggressors, and for the state to abolish the use of the death penalty.
